BUCK Saga

As promised, and by popular demand, here are the latest MDPD Major Larry Buck episodes. The first one involves a time when he was transferred to the Property Room. Apparently, the office that was designed for the, at the time, Commander, was not good enough for Buck. Never mind that the space has served all of the people who have been in command of the Property Room prior Buck, who claims to be a short-timer anyway, felt that the employees break room was a more suitable space for his working area. I guess he needed more space for his ever-growing brain power. As I'm told, the Director reversed Buck's decision and now he must endure the same space that all others at his command level have done before him. The second enriched tale goes something like this: Major Buck is driving his County vehicle out of the Property room compound and he crashes in the gated fence causing damage to the fence (County property) and the vehicle (more County property). An officer writes the crash report and properly listed the Major at fault. The Major, possibly suffering from his brain power being compressed in the office he did not find sufficiently large for him, called and ordered that the report read that the cause of the crash was inclement weather. The order was granted, however, the sad thing that worked against our beloved Major were the cameras guarding the property room. The tape was secured and it clearly showed the accident and, more importantly, it showed that it was a clear, sunny day.

Our information is that a Professional Compliance Bureau investigation was underway and we will see what happens. I do know what would happen to a lower rank if Buck had to decide on his/her fate. It wouldn't be as kind as it has been thus far on our esteemed Major. I have always maintained that a double standard does exist, but we do have a new Sheriff and he must be allowed to set his legacy.
