Another over the top performance was put on this past May with our 17th Annual Gala. It was attended by Governor Charlie Crist, who stayed the entire event, and Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp, who came early, and joined us for lunch and stayed until the very end. Both men were so gracious to take pictures in abundance with our members and guests. They were so sociable with our attendees that they never got the chance to eat.

Congratulations to all the Honorees and thank-you to all of our wonderful sponsors! Wackenhut came through, not only as the premier sponsor, but offered an additional six thousand dollars to help three law enforcement families equally. Also, a thank-you to Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners Vice-Chairman Pepe Diaz for his attendance and support. Commissioner Diaz purchased an entire table and donated space for some of our very own members. He is always there for law enforecement and it does not go unnoticed. Our gratitude and appreciation goes out to Stephanie Womble and Doyla Calafell for their hard work, and the rest of the PBA family for assisting with all the work to make the Gala the greatest one yet.
